Field trip of UTC students to Hai Phong Depot (ADCo)

A company trip is an effective connection channel through which businesses and schools meet and develop relationships to achieve a common goal. Moreover, a field trip creates a favorable environment for students to gain practical knowledge and skills—an important foundation for career development.

To continue the series of company trips for students of the University of Transport, on November 10, 2020, we were happy to welcome students from Class K58_DB02 to visit the ADCo-Hai Phong depot.

Like the previous visit, the students were equipped with masks, checked for body temperature, and hand-sanitized before entering.

 

The trip was opened with a meeting between the students and depot staff present at the operation building. Mr. Nhu, Terminal Manager, gave an overview of the ADCo-Hai Phong depot, as well as the safety requirements when touring through the depot.

 

Next, Mr. Tuan, Northern Sales Representative, enthusiastically introduced the product portfolio and projects that ADCo participated in Vietnam. The excitement and attentiveness of the students made the exchange much more exciting.

The students were guided to visit, listen, and see the actual storage tanks and the PMB and emulsion plants.

 

Everyone was very excited and happy. The students also received answers from Mr. Nhu to all questions related to asphalt products, as well as the process of storage and quality control at the depot.

This was followed by a very useful hands-on activity. Mr. Tu, the technician at the lab, introduced to students the advanced machines being used in ADCo to manufacture and strictly control product quality. At the same time, the students were allowed to differentiate firsthand between conventional asphalt and PMB asphalt.

 

With many engaging and rewarding activities, an exciting day trip ended with happy staff and the students gaining useful practical knowledge. Thank you and see you again during the upcoming company trips!

Following the success of previous field trips, on 24thOctober 2023, ADCo welcomed 30 students, Faculty of Engineering, University of Transport and Communications (UTC) to visit Hai Phong Depot. This is a useful activity, equipping the students with knowledge and practical experiencethat helps them gain a deeper understanding of asphalt materials and asphalt products such as Polymer Modified Bitumen, emulsion… as well as future career development directions.

Rebuilding Central Vietnam

In October 2020, Central Vietnam in general and Chan May Terminal, in particular, were hit by four consecutive storms that caused damage to people, including ADCo employees living and working in this area. Immediately, the company leaders urged everyone to donate and share the difficulties of their colleagues. The total amount raised amounted to US$ 10,894 (equivalent to VND 252,632,000). The representatives of ADCo also organized a visit to 12 families of ADCo employees who suffered from storm damage.
