Recycling Technology of Asphalt Concrete Pavement at Mobile Mixing Plant for Road Maintenance and Repairing

On May 20th, the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) in collaboration with Wirtgen Group (Germany) and Asphalt Distribution Company Limited hosted a seminar on "Recycling Technology of Asphalt Concrete Pavement at Mobile Mixing Plant for Road Maintenance and Repairing".

The content attracted the attention of a large number of scientists, consultants, constructors, and businesses in the field of transportation with the aim to raise awareness and promote the application of sustainable and environmentally friendly pavement materials technologies, reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Seminar Overview

Speaking at the seminar,  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, Vice Director of UTC emphasized the importance of sustainable pavement technology as Vietnam has committed to achieving "Net Zero Emissions" by 2050.

Mr. Xavier Guyot, Technical Director (Colas Group, Asia-Pacific region) also presented the Easycold R+ Technology, a cold in-plant recycling solution developed by Colas Group. This technology uses specialized bitumen emulsion and has a RAP (Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement) content of 80-90%. Easycol R+ reuses milled materials from the same site or stockpiles from other construction sites, saving raw materials, binders, transportation, and energy, resulting in economic and environmental benefits.
